GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Delaware Department of Labor began its annual prevailing wage survey on Jan. 2 to collect data from contractors statewide for setting 2026 state-funded construction rates — surveys must be submitted online or by mail by Feb. 9.  Coast TV
  • The Delaware Alcoholic Beverage Control Commissioner clarified that diners may take home leftover wine if the bottle is properly recorked by the establishment (or staff) so it is not considered an open container, while to-go alcohol must be sold in securely closed packaging.  Delaware Online

HEALTH NEWS

  • Tidalhealth now requires face masks at all its locations (including Atlantic General Hospital) to help curb a surge in respiratory illnesses. Visitors without a mask will be turned away, though masks are provided at check-in.  WBOC
  • Beebe Healthcare is launching three free wellness programs to help local residents improve their health in the new year. Community members can sign up at any Beebe location for these educational opportunities.  Bay to Bay News
