- ➤ Avelo Airlines is updating its fleet by retiring six Boeing 737-700s, adding larger 737-800s and ordering 100 Embraer 195-E2s to reduce costs while keeping Wilmington Airport a key hub with three planes. A base is planned in Dallas/McKinney later this year. Coast TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Delaware Agriculture Week returns to Harrington at the Delaware State Fairgrounds from Jan. 12–15. The event will offer educational sessions and networking opportunities for local farmers and industry leaders to learn more about the state's top industry. Delaware Online
- ➤ Families can apply for school choice by submitting separate applications before Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 11:59 p.m. (Some districts require extra documentation, so check local guidelines). WDEL
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The State of Delaware released its 2025 Climate Action Plan to curb pollution and protect communities from heavy rains and flooding. - ➤ The Blood Bank of Delmarva held a press conference Wednesday in Dover to urge locals to donate blood as winter illnesses and busy schedules drop donations. Officials say a three to four day supply remains and warn that a small decline could strain life-saving services. WBOC

- ➤ Caesar Rodney edged Smyrna in Henlopen North wrestling on Wednesday when Jeremiah Heath recorded a tech fall at 215 pounds to secure a 34-32 win for his school. Bay to Bay News
