- ➤ Organizers hold a Back the Blue memorial event for fallen Corporal Snook on Sunday, Jan. 18 at Hudson Fields in Milton (Eagle Crest Road off Route One). The event runs 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and offers free memorial stickers while accepting donations for the Snook family. Coast TV
- ➤ Alexander J. Deusa, Sr. died Saturday, Jan. 3 at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, Jan. 12 at Torbert Funeral Chapel in Dover (donations in his memory are welcomed at The Cross Church of the Nazarene). Bay to Bay News

- ➤ The Downtown Dover Partnership held its Winter 2025 Merchant Window Contest and Mitten & Winters CPAs was selected for its festive, Christmas-themed display downtown. The contest comes ahead of WinterFest scheduled for Jan. 16-17. Bay to Bay News

- ➤ Delaware officials released an updated Climate Action Plan in early 2026 that sets a net-zero emissions goal by 2050 and outlines measures targeting transportation, industrial activity, and power generation; the plan addresses risks like sea-level rise and severe storms while the state already meets key federal environmental standards. - ➤ DNREC invites county and city governments, conservation districts + estuary programs to apply for matching grants for surface water planning projects with applications due by 4:30 p.m. EST Wednesday, Feb. 18.
