Delmarva Power filed an application on Dec.
9, 2025 asking for a $67.8 million base rate increase that may raise customer bills by $6 to $15 if interim rates take effect on July 9, 2026 + regulatory hearings will lead to a final decision by late 2026.

The Delmarva Chicken Association has opened a scholarship application period offering $2,000 for undergraduates and $3,000 for graduates (poultry careers).
Applications are now being accepted in Dover.

A 50-year-old sewer main line broke in Camden on Jan.
11 and continues to spill wastewater near Tidbury Creek while county officials work to contain the leak. The Department of Public Works says a bypass line is active and a pumper truck is reducing the flow.

After a presumptive positive bird flu case in Kent County was reported this past weekend, Delaware Agriculture Week held a session in Harrington to teach farmers protective steps (like dedicated footwear and sanitizing).

Data released on Nov.
26 showed Delaware had a 216-minute median emergency room visit, the fifth highest in the U.S., compared to a nationwide average of 161 minutes (with Washington, D.C. at 301 minutes).

Local high school girls basketball teams are on winning streaks as Caravel, Padua, Hodgson, and DMA each secured wins last week, with Caravel posting three wins and DMA remaining undefeated.
