- ➤ Delaware law protects Good Samaritans who provide emergency aid without expecting payment but does not extend immunity to breaking a car window for rescue (for example, to help a pet or person), so local officials urge residents to call 911 instead. Delaware Online
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ FDA raised an urgent cheese recall on Jan. 6 when Ambriola Company products, first pulled in late 2025, were reclassified as Class I due to Listeria risks that can seriously harm vulnerable consumers; Delaware shoppers should avoid these products and return or dispose of them. WBOC
- ➤ Local pet owners are advised to check temperatures before dog walks as forecasts below 45°F may stress smaller dogs or those with thin coats. Delaware law states dogs must not be left outdoors for over 15 minutes (signs of hypothermia include shivering and slowed movement). Delaware Online
- ➤ Bayhealth announced on Thursday, Jan. 15 that physician assistant Daniel Patrick Scott joined its Sussex Campus to improve patient access for local residents. Bay to Bay News
- ➤ FDA recalled certain Live It Up Super Greens powder sold online nationwide after 45 people contracted salmonella— including cases in Delaware— urging consumers to return or discard any affected products with expiration dates from Aug. 2026 to Jan. 2028. Delaware Online

- ➤ Saint Mark’s High boys basketball coach Lonnie Wright will serve a 4-game suspension after the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association reduced his penalty on Jan. 15 at the Smyrna School District office. His appeal over a summer tournament violation led to the trimmed suspension. Delaware Online
