  • Dover Motor Speedway will host three Laps for Charity events on May 2, Aug. 1, and Sept. 27, letting fans drive vehicles, ride race cars, and take photos at the Monster Monument (for Speedway Children’s Charities) to benefit local nonprofits supporting children in need.  Coast TV
  • Today, the Delaware Community Foundation celebrates 40 years by granting over $530 million to local groups and $6 million in scholarships for 3,000 students in Dover — marking decades of community leadership and support. CULTURE NEWS

  • The Milford Museum will present a free Black History Month program titled The Red Ball Express on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. at the Milford Public Library — educator Dante Brizill will lead the event that explores the historic role of African American drivers during World War II.  Coast TV

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices for regular fuel in the Central Atlantic dropped from $2.90 to $2.88 per gallon last week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The decrease marks a 10% drop from a year ago and keeps the regional average about 1.1% above the national rate.  Delaware Online

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today is National Unclaimed Property Day and Delaware residents can search online for lost funds like uncashed checks or inactive bank accounts. The state may send money automatically through its Money Match program when a verified address is found.  Delaware Online
  • Governor Matt Meyer’s office is accepting applications for a 14-week spring internship, offering students hands-on state government experience such as drafting proclamations and answering calls. Applicants must submit a resume, writing sample (and three references) by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6.  Coast TV

SPORTS NEWS

  • The University of Delaware added 13 transfers this season, including defensive and offensive specialists, to build off last season’s impactful additions. The new group—featuring players from Power 4 programs + local talent—aims to strengthen both lines for upcoming games.  Delaware LIVE
  • Analiese Waid set a season best of 24.99 in the Blue Hen Conference 50 freestyle, giving Concord its third straight girls team title (her performance boosted the team’s win).  Delaware Online
