- ➤ The Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice, marking 10 years of service, announced it will join Do More 24 Delaware, the state’s largest day of giving, to support local nonprofits and boost community engagement. Bay to Bay News
- ➤ Charles Edward Carlisle, a beloved local veteran & church member, passed away on Feb. 21 after a lifetime of service, faith, and family commitment. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 3 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. Bay to Bay News

- ➤ DSU graduate Capt. Larry Potts, the only known Del State grad killed in Vietnam, is honored with an endowed scholarship fund set up by his friend Charles (Butch) Hammond. Donations via check may still be sent to the DSU Foundation in Dover. Delaware State University
- ➤ On Feb. 25, Delaware Tech recognized James 'Sonny' Knott for his longtime volunteer service during its Black History Month Celebration at the Stanton and Wilmington campuses. His work included restoring the historic Hockessin Colored School #107. Coast TV

- ➤ The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control said The Point at Cape Henlopen State Park will close on March 1 + a stretch of both ocean and bay will be off limits. Local visitors should look for other areas to explore. Bay to Bay News

- ➤ DNREC has proposed regulation 3560 to define total fish length for legal minimum and maximum measurement in local fisheries — a measure needed for compliance with the Atlantic Striped Bass Fisheries Management Plan. A virtual public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, Mar. 25 at 6 p.m. WGMD

- ➤ The Delaware Legislative Black Caucus and Blood Bank of Delmarva held a press conference on Friday in Dover to urge more minority blood donations amid a supply drop from a 7-day reserve to 2 days. Officials said increasing Black donors (currently 5.7 percent) is vital for universal type O blood. WBOC
