ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Latest data shows the national gasoline average rose 27 cents to $3.25 while Delaware prices increased 21 cents to $3.15 after crude oil climbed to $74.66 amid Middle East tensions. The change follows lower demand and comes as refineries get ready for summer blend production. WGMD
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Bryan Allen Stevenson School board reallocated funds from contracted services to supplies during Tuesday night’s meeting and said the school is not in deficit. State officials will decide on the charter renewal on March 19 amid the ongoing review. WDEL
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Dover City Council denied $47K in funding for The People’s Church shelter on Feb. 28 after neighbors and business owners cited public safety concerns plus church leaders said the center will keep operating with a planned $350K grant from opioid settlement funds. WDEL
- ➤ Delaware Transit Corporation secured a $14.3 million federal grant to rehabilitate 51 buses, improving reliability and lowering maintenance costs. Officials say the midlife project will extend each bus's life + save about $7.4 million in future expenses. WGMD
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Bayhealth graduated 33 nurses on Mar. 5 in Dover after they completed its inpatient residency program + accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Practice Transition Accreditation. Bay to Bay News
- ➤ Delaware’s Department of Health and Social Services announced a new system called DTRN360 to streamline behavioral health care by linking local providers such as Dover Behavioral Health. Nine additional contractor providers will join the platform by this summer to enhance access to complete patient information. Delaware Public Media
