  • Do More 24 Delaware raised over $2.4 million from more than 20,000 donors for 600 nonprofits from 6pm Thursday to 6pm Friday — the fundraiser featured matching gifts and cash prizes that boosted support for local charities.  WGMD

  • Ulta has launched its 21 Days of Beauty sale offering up to 50% off makeup and skincare; the sale began Friday, Mar. 6 and runs through Thursday, Mar. 26, and Dover shoppers can enjoy special deals in-store + online.  Delaware Online

EDUCATION NEWS

  • DSU computer science students (Smooth Cruize) won UD's HenHacks Hackathon held Feb. 28 to Mar. 1 after taking first place in Community Wellness and Social Connections. Their computer program processes dash cam videos to detect potholes, earning each member a Nintendo Switch 2.  Delaware State University

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control signed a contract with First State Crane Service to operate the replacement sand bypass system at Indian River Inlet. The new system will resume operations soon to improve sediment flow management in the area.  Bay to Bay News
  • Delaware lawmakers will join a field trip to New Jersey this spring to see red knots at peak stopover after the Rufa Red Knot Delaware Bay Annual Report for 2025 showed a drop to 0.2% on the Delaware side. The trip will address concerns linked to horseshoe crab harvest.  Bay to Bay News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Dover Air Force Base has served as a hub for dignified transfers — processing remains from military actions and national tragedies like 9/11 and the Jonestown Massacre. Its mortuary, established in 1955, is the nation's only port mortuary and honors a long legacy of respectful service.  Delaware Online
  • Rep. Bryan Shupe announced legislation to make insulin and EpiPens free for children under 18 — the bill has not been officially introduced yet and he plans to work with both parties to move it forward.  WBOC
  • Delaware named the rescue dog as its official state dog when Gov. John Carney signed Senate Bill 37 in May 2023 — the change aims to spotlight shelter animals for adoption. It replaces the golden retriever and honors rescue dogs statewide.  Delaware Online

HEALTH NEWS

  • Delaware's DHSS launched DTRN360, a new statewide platform connecting behavioral health providers with real-time data to improve care coordination. The system, developed with input from over 200 local healthcare professionals, supports 14,000 care journeys — nearly 600 staff users in the network.  Coast TV

  • Delaware State won a MEAC basketball game when Miles Webb's dunk in the final five seconds gave them a 57 to 56 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on Thursday night.  Bay to Bay News
