CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A shooting under investigation on Nathaniel Mitchell Road in Rodney Village saw a 19-year-old victim taken to hospital with minor injuries and a stolen vehicle pursuit led to the arrest of four juveniles: a 17-year-old boy, a 15-year-old girl and a 12-year-old girl charged with receiving stolen property and resisting arrest while a 10-year-old boy was taken into custody and a fifth suspect remains at large. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A new map tracking hurricane landfalls since 1851 by University of Oklahoma student Michael Ferragamo shows that Delaware has never had a direct hurricane hit while most storms make landfall along the Gulf Coast and southeast. The map reveals that Delaware and the Delmarva Peninsula face east (which directs most storms to hit the Outer Banks) and notes that even without a direct hit, tropical systems like Tropical Storm Isaias can cause damage.
