CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On May 1, Delaware State Police responded to calls about an impaired driver near Harbeson and chased a 44-year-old man from Milford driving a red Ford F-150 who fled into an occupied home and charged troopers with a knife—resulting in the suspect being fatally shot with his identity to be released once family members are notified. - ➤ The Spazmatics and Mike Hines and the Look will perform free concerts at Dover Motor Speedway during race weekend from July 18—20, and several other acts will also play on those dates. Bay to Bay News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Matt Meyer established the Delaware Office of Gun Violence Prevention and Community Safety on May 2 to check programs, find gaps in gun violence prevention, and make strategies smoother—efforts that will guide its work during the office’s first year. The new unit will focus on these tasks to improve community safety. Bay to Bay News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Bayhealth President and CEO Terry Murphy detailed hospital expansion plans during a presentation at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club that include adding private patient rooms and facility improvements at Sussex and Kent campuses.
