- ➤ GM, Ford & Volkswagen are recalling hundreds of thousands of vehicles for engine failures, camera defects, and seat design issues, affecting models like Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Bronco, Ford F-series, Lincoln Navigator, and Volkswagen ID. BUZZ. Owner notification letters for Ford were mailed on May 5 while GM and Volkswagen letters will be sent on June 9 and June 20, and repairs will be provided at local dealerships free of charge. - ➤ Early Sunday morning, May 4th, Dover Police responded to a shooting in a pub parking lot on the 800 block of North State Street—one 22-year-old died at Bayhealth Kent Hospital and another 21-year-old was injured after being shot by an unknown suspect. WDEL

- ➤ Logan Miller, raised in Milford, Delaware, will graduate from Delaware State University on May 8 as she moves closer to her goal of becoming a doctor. - ➤ University of Delaware President Dennis Assanis announced Monday that he will step down at the end of June after a nine-year tenure that brought record growth in research, enrollment and campus improvements—an interim president will take over on July 1. - ➤ Delaware Governor Matt Meyer announced Monday that the deadline for public high school students to apply for a non-voting seat on the State Board of Education has been extended to May 12 at 5 p.m.—rising juniors and seniors must submit three essay responses and a recommendation to join the advisory board for the 2025–2026 school year. The selected student will serve for one year and attend monthly board meetings starting in July. Coast TV
