- ➤ Delaware letter carriers and the Food Bank of Delaware joined to kick off the 33rd annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive with an event at the Newark Post Office on May 7 and will collect nonperishable food from mailboxes on May 10. Participants are asked to donate items in non-breakable containers—such as boxes and cans—with items like peanut butter, cereal, pasta, and canned soups most needed. WDEL
- ➤ Delaware Natural Resources Police will host the 39th Annual Youth Fishing Tournament on June 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at public ponds (locations include Blockhouse Pond in Lewes, Akridge Scout Reservation in the Dover area, and Lums Pond near Bear) while children ages 4 to 15 must preregister by May 23. - ➤ Dover Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Wednesday morning — at about 3:20 a.m. on Stevenson Drive off White Oak Road — when a 23-year-old Dover man was shot in his lower body and taken to a hospital. WDEL

- ➤ Camden police pulled out of the ICE partnership on Tuesday after just one week because community members widely opposed the move. Police Chief Marcus Whitney said the agreement was meant to target those with criminal complaints—rather than to broadly enforce immigration laws. Delaware Online
- ➤ The FBI approved Delaware to restart fingerprint background checks for weed licenses after a one-month stop—license holders must complete fingerprinting by June 6 to keep their conditional licenses. Delaware Online
