CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Hartly man, 48-year-old George Carey, was arrested by Delaware State Police in Kent County after masked men entered an RV on Mud Mill Road around 11 p.m. Saturday and ransacked it, with a search finding stolen property, drugs, and paraphernalia — detectives continue to investigate for additional suspects. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Delmarva Chicken Association awarded $23,500 in scholarships to 12 students pursuing chicken industry careers through its DCA College Scholarship Program; the awards include ten $2,000 scholarships, one $500 'pick of the flock' award, and one $3,000 Emerson Morgan Graduate Scholarship that add to $270,500 granted since 1985. The scholarships will be funded by the DCA College Scholarship Golf Tournament — scheduled for Sept. 29 at GlenRiddle Golf Club in Berlin. Coast TV

- ➤ On May 22, DNREC held its second annual habitat restoration workshop at Cedar Swamp Wildlife Area where professionals and local landowners reviewed efforts to restore quail habitat and support wildlife conservation.
