- ➤ The 39th Annual Statewide Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Delaware will run from June 11 through June 13 and will see nearly 800 officers carry the Flame of Hope along a route that starts at Fenwick Island and travels toward Wilmington. The event includes key stops—such as a ceremony at Rehoboth Beach on June 11, an afternoon ceremony on Legislative Mall in Dover on June 12, and a final leg ending at the Bob Carpenter Center on June 13—that support year-round sports for athletes with intellectual disabilities. - ➤ Delaware State Police arrested George Carey, a 48-year-old Hartly man, on Saturday night, May 31, after he was linked to a home invasion near Camden-Wyoming in which a resident was held at knifepoint and the other two suspects fled in a vehicle — he now faces multiple felony charges and is held on a $30,000 cash bond. - ➤ Delaware State Police arrested 74-year-old Peter Reidy—acting disorderly at Rodney Village Shopping Center—on May 30 at about 1:58 p.m. after he wielded a screwdriver to confront a man in the parking lot, and he now faces multiple felony charges. First State Update

- ➤ Community leaders, educators and local residents celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the new Holy Cross High School last week at 2319 S. Dupont Highway in Dover — marking a key moment for Catholic education in the area. - ➤ The Delaware Department of Correction is shifting all its 28 K-9 teams to work exclusively on detecting contraband to improve prison safety. - ➤ On May 30, the Office of the State Veterinarian and DNREC issued an alert linking neurological disease in Kent County horses to corn-based feed bought in April—feed samples tested at 31—101 ppm Fumonisin, above the FDA threshold.
