ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Tuesday night in Camden—when a Harley Davidson FLH lost control on Westville Road near Big Ditch Road at about 7:45 p.m., ejecting its 64-year-old rider who died at the scene. WBOC
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ DRBA Commissioners have named Joel Coppadge as the new executive director, making him the first African-American to lead the agency. Coppadge—who formerly led LuckyQ Solutions and is a Delaware State University Distinguished Alumnus—will take over on July 14. WDEL
- ➤ Governor Meyer announced an agreement with Delmarva Power to ease utility bills for nearly 20,000 Delawareans by providing nearly $6.5 million in credits. The funds will support energy-saving efforts through the Home Energy Check-Up and Counseling Program — serving households earning up to 350% of the federal poverty level — without new legislation. - ➤ Delaware health and environmental officials are warning residents to check for ticks as warm weather brings more time outdoors. They advise using long sleeves, repellent with at least 20% DEET, and checking themselves, children and pets—steps that help prevent Lyme disease, with 344 cases reported last year—and alpha-gal syndrome in over 100 cases.
