CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Dover Police arrested 24-year-old Aaron Grimes from Magnolia after a shots-fired incident occurred at Liberty Court Apartments on Friday, June 20th at 9:31 p.m.—officers found shell casings near unoccupied vehicles and an apartment, and Grimes was later released on $8,000 unsecured bail for charges including carrying a concealed deadly weapon, reckless endangering, and criminal mischief. - ➤ Madeleine Overturf and Ted Corriero of CoastTV won a Capital Emmy Award for their feature on Return Day—a Delaware tradition in which political rivals bury the hatchet after Election Day. The honor was given in the Chesapeake Heritage — News Feature category by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Coast TV

- ➤ Delaware's Department of Labor released its May labor review showing that statewide unemployment increased from 3.9% in April to 4.0% in May—20,100 residents were unemployed, up from 19,000 a year ago. Sussex and Kent counties saw slight drops in unemployment, and the state's labor force grew by 800 workers, the largest monthly gain since June 2023. WBOC

- ➤ Fourteen public safety professionals completed a five-day POST Approved Instructor Course at the University of Delaware Police Department from June 9th to 13th, 2025 — participants from various state agencies — and their approval will be considered in August. Delaware LIVE
