CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Two teenage boys, a 17-year-old from Georgetown and a 14-year-old from Dover, were charged with carjacking in Smyrna after holding a man at gunpoint on Berry Drive while he drove them to Holly Hill Estates and are also accused of damaging a car on Cedar Court when Dover police chased them, with the 17-year-old surrendering and the 14-year-old being caught after a crash near Wheatleys Pond Road—police recovered the weapon after it was thrown from the vehicle. - ➤ On July 4, Dover Police investigated a shooting that damaged an occupied home on Rockford Crossing but reported no injuries and no leads, urging anyone with information to call 302-736-7130. WBOC

- ➤ Delaware students made state history last weekend at the Educators Rising National Conference in Orlando by winning key competitions—highlighting Delaware’s first-ever middle school national champion and its first collegiate champion in creative lecture. Thirty-nine percent of the 3,000 students placed in the top 10, and every competitor from Smyrna Middle School finished in the top 5, the Department of Education reported. Coast TV
