ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash near Farmington on July 6 at 1:00 a.m.—a GMC Sierra pickup truck veered off the road, struck trees, and killed a 21-year-old man from Greenwood who was not wearing his seatbelt. WBOC
- ➤ A 21-year-old Greenwood man died early Sunday at about 1 a.m. when his speeding pickup truck plowed into two trees near Farmington and Shawnee Road was partially closed for (3.5 hours) as state police investigated the crash. WDEL
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Ginger Zee, chief meteorologist for Good Morning America, visited Rehoboth Beach on July 3 to spotlight lifeguards and show the hard work and training that keeps beachgoers safe — her visit kickstarted the '50 States in 50 Weeks: America the Beautiful' series, which marks the show’s 50th anniversary and honors America’s history. This series will travel across the states as viewers get a closer look at local heroes and unique traditions. Delaware Online

- ➤ A study ranked Delaware’s top 25 high schools for athletes using survey feedback from students and parents+ data on state championships, sports offered, and participation. The list shows which schools, including Dover High School, have strong athletic programs. Delaware Online

- ➤ Delaware homeowners are usually responsible for repairs when trees fall during storms — even trees planted along the sidewalk count as part of their property.
