CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Delaware State Police said shots were fired at an occupied house on Washington Place early Friday at 5:20 a.m.—none of the 5 adults or 3 children inside were injured and detectives are asking anyone with information to contact Detective E. Paneda. WDEL
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Delaware Department of Transportation announced toll hikes on major highways such as I-95, Route 301 and Route 1 starting on Aug. 15 to raise $107 million a year for state projects. DMV fees will rise on Oct. 1 with a new annual fee for alternative fuel vehicles and higher charges for name changes and specialty plates. Delaware Online

- ➤ Bayhealth Foundation and Biggs Museum hosted a reception in Dover on June 11 where donors and supporters gathered to explore art exhibits and discuss art therapy benefits. Chief Wellness Officer Thomas Vaughan explained how art helps reduce stress and prevent burnout — and the event also previewed upcoming programs connecting Bayhealth staff with local students.
