- ➤ The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce will host a Sunset Business Mixer on July 30 at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Dover from 5-7 p.m.—members and invited guests will network, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, and have a chance to win prizes. On Aug. 27 at the Discovery Center at DASEF in Smyrna, CDCC members will also showcase their business with a vendor table during a combined mixer and expo. Bay to Bay News

- ➤ At Dover City Hall on Monday night, neighbors demanded action against gun violence after shootings on Barrister Place and outside a local pub—activists recommended more patrols, camera installation between key areas, and other safety measures as officials cited limited resources. WDEL
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ The federal government imposed a 17% tariff on most fresh Mexican tomatoes Monday, and local growers hope the measure will push customers to buy produce grown near Dover. - ➤ Fans will attend NASCAR race weekend at Dover Motor Speedway starting Friday, July 18 when the ARCA Menards Series race begins at 5 p.m., followed by the Xfinity race on Saturday and the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 on Sunday at 2 p.m. — organizers will offer free parking on Friday and Saturday and a free shuttle from Christiana Mall on Sunday — while speedway rules on bag size and prohibited items will be enforced.
