  • Police say a 68-year-old Dover man was critically injured in a motorcycle crash at 6:52 p.m. on Forrest Avenue and Marsh Creek Lane when his 2024 Harley Davidson hit a 2019 Ram Promaster (cause unknown) and the investigation is ongoing.  First State Update

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Delaware Tech’s Owens and Terry Campuses were chosen for Year 7 of the Metallica Scholars Initiative—receiving a $50,000 grant to support eight CNAs at Owens in Georgetown and nine EMTs at Terry in Dover to build workforce skills in health care and emergency services.  WGMD

  • Governor Matt Meyer signed a law on July 30 that boosts health training for Delaware school team coaches—improving emergency readiness—so schools can handle crises better.  Bay to Bay News
  • Residents in Dover's Lincoln Park asked city leaders for help on July 29 as speeding vehicles have raised safety concerns — the city code prohibits speed humps due to emergency access issues — officials will draft a formal speed reduction plan for review by the end of the year.  WDEL
