- ➤ On Thursday, Dover Police chased a stolen 2018 Tucson near North DuPont Highway & River Road that led through Hartly to Wheatley's Pond Road in Smyrna, where stop sticks were deployed and three local suspects, including a 19-year-old driver who fled after hitting a house, were arrested. WGMD
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ DNREC, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research rehabilitated a piping plover nicknamed Nomad, who was found on June 30 unable to fly or walk because of possible muscle damage from a predator chase. He was treated at Tri-State’s Newark facility and is now back at Fowler Beach where he had nested since 2024. WDEL

- ➤ Delaware General Assembly officials discussed steps to lower property taxes as they prepare for Tuesday, August 12 special session.
