- ➤ On Saturday night, Aug. 9, a vehicle crashed into a toll booth in Dover and injured a toll collector with minor injuries—DelDOT reminded drivers to slow to the 10 mph speed limit in the area. Coast TV

- ➤ A 20-year-old man was injured in a shooting on Aug. 8 in Dover — several residences were also damaged, authorities said. Bay to Bay News

- ➤ A.T. Moffet urged young Delaware artists to keep in touch with past mentors and connect with new community ties to build stronger careers. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ DNREC has opened registration for the 38th Delaware Coastal Cleanup—set to take place Saturday, September 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at over 45 sites—and invites individuals and groups to help clear litter from beaches, waterways, and natural areas statewide. WBOC
- ➤ The Friends of Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge is inviting photographers of all ages to join its 22nd Annual Prime Hook Nature Photography Contest, which will begin Friday, Aug. 15. The contest offers cash prizes and awards for young photographers, and submissions must be mailed or hand-delivered by Oct. 11, with entries on display from Oct. 19 to Dec. 14 (at the refuge). Leaders credited local programs like the Group Violence Intervention project—while flagging concerns over younger offenders and potential federal funding cuts—and McBride pledged to support federal measures to ban assault weapons and boost community safety. - ➤ The Delaware Department of Transportation announced that Phase 3 of improvements on Kenton Road between Route 8 and College Road will begin Tuesday, August 19th and continue until November 21st, with northbound lanes closed and southbound lanes open. The project will install underground utilities and finish roadway paving — a detour will be provided for drivers in the work zone. WBOC
