- ➤ The Nanticoke Indian Association raised over $10,000 in community donations to help fund the annual Powwow scheduled for Sept. 6-7 at Hudson Fields outside Milton—organizers say the money will cover event expenses while supporting future scholarships and community programs. Coast TV

- ➤ A study by emergency electricians using 2023 data revealed Delaware ranked 4th with residents experiencing about 1.01 outage hours across 0.69 interruptions, each lasting roughly 1.46 hours—Rhode Island had the fewest outages while West Virginia faced the worst with 6.43 outage hours. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Hurricane Erin, a Category 4 storm, is intensifying in the Caribbean and is forecast to bring 7 to 9-foot high surf and dangerous rip currents to Delaware beaches on August 21 and 22. National Weather Service officials urge residents to avoid swimming and heed warnings of coastal flooding — a risk from the mix of hurricane swell and full moon high tide. Delaware Online

- ➤ Under Delaware law, a neighbor may aim a security camera at your front yard and public areas, but intentionally targeting private spaces—like windows, doors, or enclosed porches—could be seen as an invasion of privacy. Residents should know that where the camera points and the intent behind it are key to what is allowed. Delaware Online
- ➤ Kenton Road project enters phase 3 on August 19 between Del. 8 and College Road where workers will install underground utilities and finish paving while the northbound lane remains closed; southbound traffic will soon reopen. The project faced early delays from a misplaced water line and will add features such as new sidewalks, turning lanes, improved drainage, and a roundabout causing a monthlong closure in March 2026—aiming for smoother traffic by the end of the year.
