- ➤ Tom Ogden has been named Springboard Delaware’s new board chair as its Georgetown community center nears completion. He will use his government and affordable housing experience to guide the nonprofit’s statewide expansion with plans for new navigation centers in Wilmington and Kent — his leadership is expected to boost efforts to secure state funding. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A proposed rule in the State Register of Regulations will require licensed electricians to do low voltage work—raising costs, risking layoffs, and delaying projects if it goes into effect. The public meeting on September 3 has been cancelled and will be rescheduled later. WGMD
- ➤ Gov. Matt Meyer signed 11 bills that aim to strengthen Delaware’s public health system—addressing insurance delays, high prescription costs, workforce protections and emergency planning—and lawmakers stressed the need for accessible, timely care. The package includes the Delaware Pre-Authorization Act of 2025 along with reforms to behavioral health and nursing oversight. WDEL

- ➤ Beebe Medical Foundation said Allen Harim Foods donated $900 on Aug. 26 to support the Beebe Healthcare Food Prescription Program—this donation will help patients get healthy food. Bay to Bay News
- ➤ Governor Matt Meyer is asking for public input to guide investments from the federal Rural Health Transformation Program—responses from patients, providers, and community leaders are needed by 5:00 p.m. ET on September 19 to improve rural health care delivery. WGMD
