- ➤ Rosedale Beach Hotel — founded by Black entrepreneur Jesse Vause and his wife Geoffie in 1937 — became a famed destination for musical legends such as Aretha Franklin, Fats Domino, Ella Fitzgerald, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Cab Calloway until it closed in the 1970s. - ➤ Delaware will host several concerts in September with shows by George Thorogood, ZZ Top, Ana Popovic and others at venues in Wilmington, Dewey Beach and near Selbyville.
