- ➤ A 58-year-old man died Saturday night near Blades when his truck with an expired temporary tag crossed into oncoming traffic on Seaford Road and struck a Ford F-150 and a Chevrolet Camaro, injuring the F-150 driver while police spent about five hours clearing the scene. Coast TV

- ➤ First State Ballet Theatre has announced its season that runs from October through April featuring five productions at The Grand Opera House and Studio One. The season includes Dracula on October 25-26, Up Front on Market on November 14-16, The Nutcracker on two weekends in December, Dreams in Motion on February 21-22, and Giselle on April 18-19—each showing classic story ballets and bold contemporary works. - ➤ Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester introduced a new bill package on September 7 to address the housing crisis by improving zoning and supporting affordable housing options for marginalized groups. The Accelerating Home Building Act in the package would create a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development—administered grant program to help local governments streamline construction with pre-reviewed design plans. - ➤ The YMCA of Delaware announced that Let’s Move Delaware will run from Sept. 14 to Oct. 12 and offer fitness and healthy lifestyle programs for all ages—Healthy Aging Week for adults 55 and older will be held from Sept. 22 to Sept. 29 with free access on presentation of photo ID to support the YMCA’s Open Doors program. - ➤ Kaiden Bennett scored on a 27-yard run with 34 seconds left, giving Delaware State (led by former NFL player DeSean Jackson) a 37-32 win over Albany in a weather-delayed game that lasted over seven hours. WDEL
- ➤ Dover's high school football team lost 34 to 20 to Appoquinimink in a 3A contest. New quarterback Alex Starling connected with freshman Dajon Smith for a 71 yard touchdown pass—showing the team is adjusting to Coach Rudy Simonetti's new system. WDEL
- ➤ The Delaware Blue Hens lost 31-7 to Colorado on Sept. 6 in their first Big 12 game, and coach Ryan Carty said the team made too many mistakes (like turnovers and missed chances) and must work harder before the home game on Sept. 13 against Connecticut.
