- ➤ A new nonprofit, Miracle Ice Arena, is raising funds to build a state-of-the-art two-sheet indoor ice rink in southern Delaware — the facility will serve Kent and Sussex counties after the only seasonal rink in Harrington closed this year. The group will open the rink by fall 2026 — and has secured commitments from local and national partners including Salisbury University and USA Warriors Ice Hockey. Coast TV

- ➤ The Delaware Emergency Management Agency is reintroducing its free Community Emergency Response Team program for National Preparedness Month. - ➤ Delaware’s Prescription Opioid Settlement Distribution Commission said that another grant recipient may be sent to the DOJ for investigation — marking the second referral after a nonprofit was flagged last year. - ➤ The Delaware Department of Agriculture confirmed two cases of West Nile Virus in horses when a 4-year-old gelding and a 7-year-old mare in Kent County were euthanized after showing symptoms between Aug. 31 and Sept. 1—officials urge horse owners to use precautions like vaccination and reducing mosquito exposure—to prevent further cases.
