- ➤ Perdue Farms donated a truckload of chicken to the Food Bank of Delaware on Monday, Sept. 29 at 11 a.m. as part of its Fill the Food Gap program—staff and local pantry partners unloaded the trailer at the Milford facility on Delaware Veterans Blvd. Coast TV

- ➤ Melodic Movements Performing Arts Program Inc. opened its second studio in Dover on Sept. 25 following a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce — the new location will expand its dance and performing arts programs locally. Bay to Bay News

- ➤ Delaware State University senior Leah Brown completed a summer internship at U.S. Soccer where she led the 'Goals for Good' project that hosted a free soccer camp for 40 children + collected 1,818 food donations. She credited the DSU Sport Management program for preparing her to pursue a community engagement role in sports. Delaware State University
- ➤ Delaware State University said it received a $2M grant from the Thurgood Marshall College Fund to support eHBCU—an online group that helps HBCUs reach more students through improved programs. The funds will boost access for tens of thousands of learners by enhancing capacity building and innovation at member schools. Coast TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State Rep. Frank Burns sponsored Senate Bill 205 that will require data centers using 30 megawatts or more to obtain a certificate from the Delaware Public Service Commission—confirming they meet grid, environmental and economic standards. The bill comes amid plans for Project Washington in Delaware City to begin construction in summer and operate in early 2028. Delaware Public Media
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Little Living LLC, a Delaware nonprofit, plans to build Murphy’s Village, a community of 170 affordable cottage-style homes on a 22.5-acre lot in Kent County south of DE Turf in Frederica, to support working families. The project is on hold because county officials declined a required pre-application meeting over zoning concerns—issues such as the site not being within the Growth Overlay District and the design not combining residential and non-residential units. - ➤ Delaware now allows transfer-on-death deeds after Gov. Matt Meyer signed House Bill 147 on Sept. 5, following efforts by Kent County resident Natalie Buzzard over three legislative sessions. The law gives people an affordable way to name beneficiaries to inherit property and avoid probate—reducing title issues and fraud. Bay to Bay News
