- ➤ Peace Week Delaware is running until Oct. 19 and features over 30 statewide events designed to promote community, justice and nonviolence — including food-sharing, hybrid discussions and youth art programs that bring together local groups. Delaware Online

- ➤ Giant Food shoppers in Delaware and Pennsylvania will soon order groceries using the Upside app—providing a new delivery option that works with reward member accounts. The service will launch by the end of October to expand the choices beyond DoorDash and Instacart. Delaware Online
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Delaware National Guard is activated to help with coastal storm flooding and high winds that began on Sunday. Emergency Management is coordinating shelter setups in Kent and Sussex Counties — agencies and first responders are working together as more flooding, tree damage, and power outages are expected. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Delaware Online holds a free vote to choose the best high school athlete of week 6 from nominees at Archmere, Caravel Academy, Sussex Academy, Concord and Saint Mark’s — the winner will be announced Oct. 17. Delaware Online
- ➤ St. Georges earned its homecoming win over Caesar Rodney with a final score of 32-7 on Oct. 11 as touchdowns from offense, defense — and special teams drove the victory. Delaware Online
- ➤ In week 7 of Delaware high school football, Appoquinimink edged Caravel 17-14 in overtime while St. Georges and Smyrna improved their playoff chances—capturing key moments from intense games. Upcoming games on Friday and Saturday, including matchups featuring Salesianum and Caravel, will further shape the playoff picture—forcing teams to adjust for the final weeks. WDEL
