- ➤ Delaware State University President Tony Allen announced on Oct.20 that the university will temporarily defer fall tuition payments for students and families affected by the government shutdown—easing financial burdens as they prepare to enroll. Bay to Bay News

- ➤ After a powerful nor'easter battered Bowers Beach last week, crews are rebuilding dunes to strengthen the shoreline—restoration efforts delayed by storm forecasts are now underway to help protect nearby homes. WBOC

- ➤ Governor Matt Meyer has launched a biweekly podcast called Matt Chats that features interviews with state leaders and public figures making a difference in Delaware — the first episodes include Education Secretary Cindy Marten and former Philadelphia Eagles players DeSean Jackson and Michael Vick. - ➤ Delaware DNREC announced that the 83rd Annual Meeting of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission will be held in Dewey Beach from October 27th to 30th — anglers, commercial fishers and conservationists can join in person or virtually. Key board meetings on horseshoe crab, menhaden and striped bass management are scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday at Hyatt Place Dewey Beach — where decisions on changes will be discussed. WGMD
