- ➤ Firefighter John LeCompte’s home burned down on Nov. 9 when lightning struck the house on Mud Mill Road near Camden-Wyoming; his wife and four children lost everything, though no injuries were reported. A fundraiser was organized through The Yard Foundation to support his family as investigators work to determine the full extent of the damage. WBOC
- ➤ On November 11, about 100 residents gathered at Kent County Levy Court in Dover to hear retired Air Force Lt. Gen. William Welser III commemorate veterans of the past and present—he acknowledged the sacrifices made by service members—and the event honored their contributions. Bay to Bay News

- ➤ Tuesday night, Delaware residents saw the northern lights as they shared photos of the colorful sky, and meteorologists explained that charged particles from the solar wind caused the display. - ➤ Shavonne Brathwaite, Delaware operations director for Mosaic, explained that proposed federal cuts to Medicaid funding endanger home and community-based services on which nearly 5,000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities depend—services that are 96% Medicaid-funded. She urged state officials to protect this funding and inform the community of its vital role in safeguarding independence—efforts that are critical as waiting lists for these services stretch longer.
