GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Delaware Office of Highway Safety launched its annual holiday campaign today to offer free Sober Ride vouchers that give up to $20 in rideshare credits via Lyft and Uber. • DNREC will launch its annual online auction of low-digit surf fishing tags today at 9 a.m., offering 14 unique tags and eight choice ranges with a minimum bid of $250 to support state parks. HEALTH NEWS

  • The Delaware Nurses Association and six state nursing groups oppose a proposed federal rule that would remove nursing from the list of professional degrees eligible for higher student loan limits. • Delaware Gov. Matt Meyer’s office submitted an application for up to $1 billion in federal Rural Health Transformation Program funds to support 15 initiatives aimed at addressing healthcare shortages in rural Kent and Sussex counties — including plans for the state’s first medical school and new telehealth services. If approved, the projects will benefit about 400,000 residents and award decisions will be announced by the end of the year.  Delaware Online
