- ➤ Dover Public Works and Kent County officials are prepping for a snowy weekend as plows and salt barns are readied and hardware stores report high supply demand. The storm forecast predicts up to three inches of snow starting Saturday midnight, with crews set to clear icy roads Sunday morning. WBOC

- ➤ In Delaware, it is illegal to keep a raccoon as a pet without a permit because state rules clearly list these animals as rabies vector species — veterinarians treating injured raccoons must either release them or transfer them to a permitted rehabilitator. Delaware Online
- ➤ Delaware towns set different noise rules for snowblowers; for example, Newport limits power equipment use (10 p.m. to 7 a.m.) and Delmar allows their use only from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Residents should check local ordinances before using their equipment this winter. Delaware Online
