ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Delaware State troopers and Newark Police responded Thursday morning—around 7 a.m.—to an accidental shooting at Las Américas ASPIRA Charter High School on Otts Chapel Road when a staff member accidentally discharged a firearm; the injured person was treated by New Castle County paramedics and flown to Christiana Hospital. - ➤ Odyssey Charter School opened its six-sport mega-plex on Wednesday for teams, student-athletes and the community. The complex covers four city blocks with advanced LED lighting and a press box—features that allow for multiple events such as sports contests, club matches and graduations. WDEL
- ➤ Delaware lawmakers introduced Senate Bill 106 on Tuesday to require all public and charter schools to adopt written cell phone policies by August 1—this action addresses rising concerns over classroom distractions and student mental health.
