- ➤ Humane Animal Partners of Delaware is seeking fosters and monetary donations to care for dogs and puppies rescued from Texas floods — 20 rescued dogs will arrive at Wilmington airport on July 11 and be taken to the Stanton shelter while animals are moved to Rehoboth Beach to make room — and they invite people to apply online. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ New Castle County Police filed murder charges against 22-year-old Shane Brank for fatally shooting 39-year-old Craig Anderson during an altercation Monday morning, July 7 at Delaware City Trailer Park—he fled the scene but was captured at 1:10 p.m. and now faces charges including first degree murder and possession of a firearm during a felony. - ➤ Downtown Dover is set to host DSU and arts nonprofit Epitome of Soul's 'Sizzling Summer Jazz Series' at the historic Schwartz Center for the Arts starting Saturday, July 12 — the series features three weekend performances in July and August with shows from 3 to 5 p.m. and VIP receptions after each event, and tickets cost $15 for general admission or $25 for VIP access.
