- ➤ On Thursday, eight local senior veterans from five long-term care facilities flew in a restored World War II biplane in Dover—a flight that lasted about 15 minutes and included 99-year-old veteran Leon Hart who relived his military service. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Delaware State Police said 19-year-old Brandon Carter—already held at Sussex Correctional Institution on unrelated charges—was charged with firing multiple rounds into an occupied residence on Washington Place on July 11, where eight people including three children were inside but were not hit and he now faces eight counts of reckless endangering with bail set at $48,050. - ➤ A man (28) from Salisbury (Maryland) was sentenced for his role in a 2022 shooting in Felton that injured a mother of three. Bay to Bay News
- ➤ 54-year-old Dwayne Fountain from Middletown, convicted in March for leading a drug trafficking ring, received a 25-year federal prison sentence after authorities seized 16 kilograms of fentanyl plus evidence showed he stored drugs in an apartment in Bear where his teenage son lived. WDEL

- ➤ Governor Matt Meyer’s office is accepting applications for an eight-week Fall internship program for rising college students and recent graduates to work on drafting proclamations, answering calls, and attending state events—applications require a resume, writing sample, and three references—and deadlines are set for 5 p.m. on September 5. - ➤ Today at 7 p.m., Delaware State will face Delaware at Delaware Stadium, which seats 18,077 fans plus the game will be broadcast on WDSD 94.7-FM and ESPN-plus. Bay to Bay News
- ➤ On Wednesday, local boats and anglers reported various catches along the shore and at Fenwick Shoal—fishermen caught croaker, triggerfish and a 5-pound flounder from Massey's Landing, while catches at York Beach and Old Inlet added to the report.
